This is not one of those “The Sky is Falling” posts. It’s serious and it’s real. Hollywood controls the heart and minds of the youth and young voters of today. They helped craft the messages that helped get Democratic c candidates elected and crushed their opponents with well crafted smear campaigns.
Now Its Payback Time
Congress and the White House wants to hand these people the power to control the Internet. The bill pushing rapidly through Congress is called “PROTECT IP Act of 2011″.
“Establishes a system for taking down websites that the Justice Department determines to be “dedicated to infringing activities.” The DoJ or the copyright owner would be able to commence a legal action against the alleged infringer and the DoJ would be allowed to demand that search engines, social networking sites and domain name services block access to the targeted site. In some cases, action could be taken to block sites without first allowing the alleged infringer to defend themselves in court. ”
Protect IP Act is a bad law. It needs to be stopped because it threatens our free speech and the internet as a whole. The video below sums it up pretty well.
